Poll-Americans Strongly Support Education Spending

CNN picked up this Reuters item concerning the annual poll by the National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago. The 2,832 Americans who participated (both parents and non-parents) viewed education as the top priority for tax spending. Education was also their top priority in 1996 and 1990. The director of the survey believes the current figure reflects concern over the perceived shortcomings in U.S. schools.
