Who Evaluates the President?

Site: http://www.chronicle.com/weekly/v45/i49/49a03901.htm

This article in the Chronicle featured a somewhat lengthy article which shows that faculty are being gradually ousted from their traditional say in college and university governance. A worrisome trend is for the boards of trustees to hire outside consultants (some of whom are felt to have conflicts of interest) to evaluate the president. Meanwhile, the faculty have been deprived of their traditional role in the process, and feel that their input is not much heeded. Sometimes that input runs counter to the finding of the outside consultant.
