No Guts, No Glory

Everybody loves to kill a deer, but few relish the prospect of gutting one. One slip of the knife and you end up with a river of steaming viscera all over your hands and hunting fatigues. But by simply following the steps laid out on this "Gutting 101" page, you can save yourself a world of trouble. The simple directions and color photos will make field dressing your trophy as simple as carving the Thanksgiving turkey. I will warn you, though. This page is for the stout of stomach only. If paragraphs that begin "Start by cutting the penis and testicles to the side" or "Now the anus needs to be cut out as well" make you squeamish, find yourself another site; better yet, take up something less messy on the weekends, like jigsaw puzzles or macrame--gutting your kill is obviously not for you. --Mumia McGrady
