TAX ANALYSTS

Tax Analysts is an non-profit organization based in Arlington, VA that provides a great website with a lot of tax information. Did you know, for instance, that Pennsylvania's State Constitution of 1776 established taxpaying as the qualification for voting, supplanting the traditional test of property ownership? I didn't either! But I learned it in their tax history section. The site has links for tax information, an archive of state policies, and more, including what they call quotable tax thoughts that will make you think--and sometimes laugh--like "taxes should be proportioned to what may be annually spared by the individual," as said by Thomas Jefferson to James Madison. Too bad he's not alive and in office today!
