Clive Coates Picks Bordeaux: 1989-1998

Finding great wines in great vintages is easy. The real challenge comes in picking out the great wines in mediocre vintages. Why bother? Well, for one thing, you can save a lot of money because less-acclaimed vintages usually mean lower prices. The cover story of this month's issue of The Wine News contains noted author and Master of Wine Clive Coates' picks from the Bordeaux vintages of 1989-1998. While some very good years (such as '89 and '90) are covered by the article, most of the vintages during this time period were not uniformly successful. Still, some excellent wines were produced, and Clive Coates is just the person to help you find them.
