MUSIC GENEALOGY

Site: http://www.icebreakersystems.com/black_music

I can remember listening to "Lonely Teardrops" by Jackie Wilson when I was just a little boy. My mother thought I was singing "Wheeeeeel," when actually I was singing, "Say You Will." Music has surely evolved since then. That is why this site was such a joy to find. Here you will find a collaboration of Soul, Funk, Blues, Jazz and Gospel music. The sitemaster has tried to show through pictures, album covers and streaming audio how this music has evolved over the past 40 years. Male and female artists are represented, from the '60s soul's James Brown to the '90s D'Angelo. On the female side, from Nina Simone to Macy Gray. On the Funk side, from Manu Dibango to Zapp. This site is a jewel!
