MIKA SALO TO FACE COURT

Mika Salo is due to test for the Sauber team this week at the Catalunya circuit, but the Finn may not be in his best form after the news that he will definitely have to front court to face the management of the BAR team. Salo is due to appear before the court where he will face a lawsuit rumored to be close to 350,000 pounds because BAR claim he was under a contract to them when he went to stand in for the injured Michael Schumacher at Ferrari last year. Mika Salo had an exclusive contract with BAR in 1999 after he stood in for the injured Ricardo Zonta. Now BAR is claiming that Salo owes them a basic compensation of £200,000 together with an additional amount for participating in six GPs with the Italian team.
