EARTHINK DROPS DSL SETUP FEES

In a move sure to be followed by other DSL providers, Earthlink Networks has decided to drop its hefty set-up and modem fees altogether, saving potential new customers roughly $300. With competition fierce in the broadband ISP market, Earthlink, which already has 50,000 DSL subscribers, is betting that by dropping its up- front fees (which consumers apparently HATE), they will be able to increase those numbers to over 150,000 by the end of this year. But, hey, one question: What about those who subscribed before this new promotion?
