ON THE ROAD TO OMAHA

Last year the College World Series (CWS) celebrated its 50th anniversary. A panel of experts was gathered to vote on the 50 greatest players and 50 greatest moments in CWS History. This site does a fine job of reviewing a rich history that many baseball fans probably don't know exists. Not only is there a quote by the estimable broadcaster Red Barber on the home page, there are feature stories from college players all over the country. The guys from the big schools get plenty of attention, but every school from the Junior College level all the way up to Division I gets covered as well. From San Jacinto College to Red Barber, that's a lot of territory! They get it done here and, when CWS time rolls around, player journals give you great behind-the-scenes information.
