SOMEBODY THROW ME A BONE

Site: http://mwflytyer.com/mft/articles/greyghost.htm

An excellent article for those who have yet to experience bonefishing and want to understand why those who have talk endlessly about it. Author Paul Melchior does a fine job of hitting the highpoints in a short article on an activity that has spawned more than a few books. For the uninitiated, bonefishing is a bit hard to understand: walking or poling around for hours on end in an environment often similar to a frying pan, in search of a fish that most likely will weigh less then three pounds--well, even ice fisherman question the sanity of a dedicated bone angler. But--third degree sunburns aside--once you have sighted, stalked and hooked a bonefish, it's the fisherman that's caught. Melchior's article addresses the fish, environment, strategy, technique and tackle in such detail that even those who have never seen a saltwater flat will be stocking up on sunblock and practicing casting.
