The Academy of American poets presents a biographical essay on Marianne Moore, including a photo of the eclectic poet. In 1921, she became an assistant at the New York Public Library. The library work put her in contact with other poets of the time, including William Carlos Williams, Wallace Stevens, and Ezra Pound. Her work was published in the literary magazine the Dial. Moore won many awards, including the National Book Award and the Pulitzer Prize. She loved animals and often drew on nature for her imagery.
