Top » Writing & PublishingCOPYRIGHT 101Site: http://lcweb.loc.gov/copyrightMost writers get their knowledge of copyright concepts from "the word on the street," i.e., from other writers who think they know what a copyright is and how to get one. There are many misperceptions out there--chiefly, either the notion that you really don't need a copyright or the belief that you always need one. Well, why not go straight to the source? The U.S. Copyright Office has its own webpage. While this may not be the most stimulating site you ever visit, it gives practical information such as a brief introduction to copyrights, a FAQs section, a legislation review, and application forms you can download. Not bad for a branch of the bureaucracy! Sat, 06 May 2000 07:00:27 -0700 Submitted by: Katherine Hauswirth
