DOING JOURNALISM

The Poynter Institute is an independent nonprofit school "dedicated to teaching and inspiring journalists and media leaders." Poynter.org, the Institute’s website, is a diverse and growing treasure trove of resources for practicing journalists: links to libraries, news organizations, associations, resource files, and more. Although the site is aimed at journalists, much of its content is valuable to anyone interested in how the media does its work and achieves its impact. From articles on journalistic genres to links that compare coverage of a single story by various publications, Poynter.org not only serves those who "do journalism," but also those who appreciate the craft.
