HUNT ALASKA!

Site: http://www.state.ak.us/local/akpages/FISH.GAME/adfghome.htm

Alaska, a beautiful span of wilderness, beckons all sportsmen at one time or another. One site you should peruse thoroughly is this one, posted by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. It is an extremely well-organized, easy-to-navigate site that offers a wealth of information. Go to the heading "Hunting" and click on the "Hunt Alaska" link to read about a wide range of topics, including everything from pre-hunt preparation to post-hunt tips. There is a good article about an actual bear attack, and tips to avoid such a confrontation on your own trip. Learn how to treat water for drinking, read the pros and cons of fly-in hunting, and peruse useful charts of bear territory, tracks, and scat. (For those of you with slow modems, this site is NOT heavy on graphics or frames. Wildlife pictures are indexed, so you have the option of loading them, instead of waiting for them to open.) Even if you are not going to Alaska anytime soon, you should bookmark this page. It is educational, factual, and has no gimmicks.
