WHAT'S WEBUCATION ALL ABOUT?

The viability of business-to-consumer dot-coms is still very much in question. However, one area of growing interest is in "Webucation," or online adult education. There are currently an estimated 90,000 courses at US universities and colleges delivered via some form of distance learning. And with technological advances in bandwidth delivery, such instruction is sure to increase. Two groups delving into Webucation are developing nations and business organizations. The former needs to better educate its citizens without dramatically increasing the infrastructure or its number of teachers. The latter needs to continually update the training of its employees not only for strategic reasons, but also as an investment in retaining these same employees. And while there are still questions concerning the quality of Webucation, the necessity of this instruction and the viability of doing so profitably will gradually be answered. Want more info?
