WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT JAMES K. POLK

If you didn't know that President James K. Polk had so much to do expanding the land size of the US in the 1800s, welcome. If you didn't know that the US Naval Academy was established on his watch, this page is also for you. Most importantly, if you're ten years old (or the parent of a ten-year-old) and you need some information for a presidential paper or project, you've come to the right place. And oddly enough, it's on the website of a musical group, They Might Be Giants. The page has lots of great Polk facts plus a collection of valuable links; it allows you to read his inaugural address or check out the election results when Polk ran for president in 1844. There's even a link to Polk's page on the White House server. Just be sure to ignore the spelling errors—-don't copy THOSE into your research paper.
