MEGA ZINES

The world of e-zines is not for the faint of heart. Zine topics are a microcosm of the world at large–-some rich and thought provoking, other offensive, ludicrous, or downright inane. While the zine market can be fickle, it also has the unique power to connect authors and readers with specific venues for their interests. For those uninitiated into this hippest of hip worlds, the Book of Zines site offers a brief definition/history of the medium. Useful links include Best Zines, The Basics (how to start your own zine, the ins and outs of zinedom), and the e-zine search program. Be prepared to have your funny bone tickled. The things people choose to publish can be bizarre and self-absorbed. But as the Intro section mentions, there are a golden ten percent that are well worth the search.
