What a kick! I played for hours at this fun and informative site, where wines are rated, reviewed, and recommended based on individual tastes and preferences. All you need to do is register (it's free), and begin selecting and rating wines that you already know. Based on this input, similar wines will be recommended. I found this very useful because I have a number of favorites that I can't find locally--I hope to check out the recommended alternates soon! Wines are rated and classified thoroughly in "taste profiles," so you'll be able to match your tastes pretty closely on a number of measures (intensity, fruit, sweet/dry, acidity, body, tannin, oak, and complexity). A "quality rating" (factoring in appearance, color, aroma, sweetness, acidity, body, flavor, tannin and finish) rounds out the analysis and makes comparisons of wines easier by assigning numerical values. Use the site to shop around and find new treasures to try.
