PRESPAWN BASS FISHING

Site: http://www.texs.com/pierce/pre-spaw.htm

This site explains why some bass spawn on wood rather than on sand and gravel, as is the norm. The long, sunny days warm the water. This triggers a need to move toward the nesting site. Not all bass spawn at the same time on a body of water. When lake temperatures reach about 60 degrees, the male bass will start searching the shallows for protected nesting sites. After the female lays her eggs the male covers the eggs with milt. Then the male bass, being nest protectors, become vulnerable to lures in and around the nest. Catch bass at the nesting site with lures in the nests, whether it is on sand and gravel or wood.
