EDUCATION WITH A BRITISH ACCENT

Site: http://www.bbc.co.uk/plsql/education/webguide/pkg_main.p_home

The BBC Education Web Guide features "over 3,000 of the best websites for learning." The guide is fully searchable and may also be browsed by topic. Within each topic, listings are annotated and grouped by age-appropriateness, for five-year-olds through adults. Some areas of the site (Careers Advice, for example) are so specific to the UK that they may have limited usefulness to those who reside elsewhere. By and large, however, the site boasts an eclectic, international range of annotated links, topics and sponsoring organizations that don't always leap to the top of U.S. search engine results. The home page and all of the subject channels highlight "sites of the week," similarly diverse in content and primary audience. Whether you want to learn a foreign language, visit a museum, locate services for the disabled, or understand the structure of the British educational system, BBC Education Web Guide is an inviting destination for learners and teachers of all ages.
