Here is an excellent guide to home theatre basics. I printed it out and read it a few times while vacationing this weekend. I compared it to others (even one's I have written), and found it to be far superior. It is just that right length and contains the key areas that most people have questions about: the room that the home theater will occupy, speakers (do you need THX?), general setup and calibration, and tips, tricks and tweaks.
