A SMALL TOWN IN GERMANY

The picturesque German village of Stadecken-Elsheim is home to some 4300 people. Most make their living from the surrounding vineyards and wineries, but the town also attracts commuters to the nearby cities of Mainz and Frankfurt. One of these is Englishman Steve Vickers, who created this site about his new home. Stadecken-Elsheim is in the Rheinhessen wine area and the village makes excellent Riesling. Steve's site gives all the information anyone could possibly want to know about Stadecken-Elsheim, from the varieties grown there, the address of every winery, wine shop, restaurant, hotel and bank--right down to the location of ATMs. There is a calendar of local events and a large number of related links.
