Top » Education: Reference & LearningNO EXCUSES PLEASESite: http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Academy/6617/ref.htmlIf one has access to the sites like this one--the Global Access to Educational Sources--don't bother making excuses to your teacher or professor for a poorly written or inadequately researched paper. Skip the bookshelf, and click into encyclopedias and dictionaries of every sort, even The Old Farmer's Almanac and The Occupational Outlook Handbook, as well as the Britannica or the Encyclopedia Smithsonia. Polish your writing with old faithful, Elements of Style, or add zip to that report with the dictionary of oxymora, Bartlett's Quotations, Roget's II, and the Cliché Finder. I once had an uncle who insisted the best education resided right in his encyclopedia collections. He sure would have had a field day with sites collected here, such as the Police Notebook, the World Flag Database, the Electronic Embassy, the Harden Political InfoSystem, Notable Citizens of Planet Earth, the Technological and Astronautical Encyclopedias, and the Great Idea Finder. Only trouble is, he would never have left his computer! Thu, 01 Jun 2000 04:00:08 -0700 Submitted by: Olivia Gartner
