Fox returns to scene of horrific crash

May 28, 1995 Stan Fox's career as a race car driver ended with the six car crash in the first lap of the Indy 500 when his car was ripped in half and left him critically injured. Last week, he retired, after he took his final two laps on the track in the pace car. This article deals with the tragedy and triumph in Fox's life since that day in '95. Last year he started a head injury support group. Over the past month the group brought 300 head injury survivors to see the races and meet with drivers including a student survivor from the Columbine shooting. Often asked to autograph photos of the crash Fox says it doesn't bother him, he doesn't remember the crash itself.
