The Writer's Guidelines Database is a unique and necessary tool for today’s multi-tasking writer. As the name indicates, the site offers guidelines on a respectable number of publications. But the joy of the site is that it goes way beyond guidelines. Favorite features include interactive deadline reminders and the Writer's Desktop, where you can input information and have the computer remind you of your "to do" list and work schedule. The Desktop even features a calculator, the better to add up your huge writer's royalty income. The Dead Publications page is limited but a potential help in avoiding dead-end submissions. Write Start provides hyperlinks to sites for jobs, references, expertise, and other handy resources for the researching author. This online equivalent of those deluxe leather organizers may become the new homepage of the time-management-deprived. Have your computer remind you to log on regularly!
