Serving Temperatures for Wine

This handy chart from IntoWine.Com lists the optimum serving temperture by wine type. It states a few obvious rules, like "In general, white wines are served cooler than red wines"-- but the chart itself is very detailed and thorough. In addition to listing temperatures for each of about 50 wine categories, there is information on how the "ends" of the scale are achieved (65 degrees Fahrenheit is wine served at room temperature, and 39 degrees can be achieved with four hours of refrigeration). What's missing are methods for reliably taking a wine's temperature, and for achieving the recommended temperatures in between.
