GONZO FOR GAMZA?

Site: http://www.winebg.com/index_2_eng/index_2_eng.htm

With so many of my favorite wines skyrocketing in price, I'm always looking for new ones. In recent years, I've noticed that Eastern and Central European wines have become more widely available, often at bargain prices. Even so, I hadn't heard much about Bulgarian wines, which is why WineBG.com is such an interesting site. Billing itself as the "first Bulgarian wine-trade site," WineBG.com covers the country's long wine history, regions of production, and wine and grape types. Adventurous imbibers can learn about the indigenous grape varieties, such as Gamza, Dimyat and Pamid. If you're interested in more mainstream grapes, don't worry; the site also covers international varieties, including this month's tasting notes of several Bulgarian Merlots. One minor caveat is that the site's version of English isn't perfect (better than my Bulgarian, though), sometimes providing unintentionally humorous moments, but they manage to get their point across. So click and learn about this emerging wine region before everyone else discovers it!
