All VW-powered, fiberglass dune buggies ultimately are copies of Bruce Meyers's original Meyers Manx. The problem with this idea is the patent courts don't believe that it's true. Over a quarter of a million copies of Meyers's brain child were developed and sold by imitators, which helped drive Meyers into bankruptcy. He's back. The Manx Dune Buggy Club maintains a website that provides technical information and sources for bits and pieces for owners of the original dune buggy. Among these links is a news flash that Bruce Meyers intends to put the Manx back into limited production, giving a lucky few a chance to buy the genuine article at what appears to be a reasonable price.
