GORIDAN KNOTS OF MATHEMATICS--WORTH A COOL MIL

Site: http://www.claymath.org/prize_problems/index.htm

Gordius, king of Phrygia, tied a rope into a knot and said, more or less, only the future ruler of Asia could untie it. History has it that Alexander the Great, wanting to be that ruler, cut it with a sword--certainly a way AROUND untieing the knot. We'll never know the exact construction of THAT knot, but if you like mathematics--a LOT--you'll love reading what the Clay Mathematics Institute calls Millenium Prize Problems. Go ahead; visit the site, and check out the seven knots of the 21st century. If you understand what's going on, YOU may be a millionaire-- as that's the prize for solving any one of the problems. Oh--it won't be easy, I guarantee!
