Top » Spirituality: New Age & AlternativeQIGONG ASSOCIATIONSite: http://www.qi.orgTo illustrate the meaning of Qigong, I find it appropriate to quote a line from a well-known sci-fi movie: "The force is created by all living things, it surrounds us, penetrates us, and binds the universe together." Literally translated, Qigong means "The Force." Qigong, also called Chi-Gung, is the ancient Chinese practice of harnessing the internal energies within oneself. Although it is similar to Tai Chi, one clear distinction between the two is that Tai Chi has self-defense elements within it, while Qigong is more of a healing practice. At this site, you'll find all you need to know about "the Force" from the Qigong Association of America. There are sections devoted to self-healing and practice, and there's also a downloadable .pdf format document for offline browsing. The site is a community site, with links to other Qigong sites, as well as a message board and a newsletter. Qigong is a proven science, and if you want to find out more, this is a place to drop by to take a look. Tue, 13 Jun 2000 18:34:42 -0700 Submitted by: Benard Quek
