THE GOLDEN DAWN

The hey days of Western Magick started with the establishment of The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn by two famed occultists, MacGregor Mathers and W.Wescott, back in the 1800s. The Order, deeply Masonic in nature, was concerned mainly with the study of Magick and Occultism. Some of the best Occult books available today are either written or translated by the late MacGregor Mathers. The Golden Dawn renewed public interest in Enochian Magick, first discovered by John Dee and his maverick sidekick, Edward Kelly, in the 1500s. The two had devised an Angelic system for summoning Angels and Demons to our world, but Dee never got to complete the System until the Golden Dawn came along three hundred years later. The Magickal tradition of the Golden Dawn is now alive and well at this website. Made as a resource center for Western Initiates who which to dabble in Esoterica, the site is a nice tribute and a good starting point for anyone who would like to know more about Magick.
