SEATTLE'S FIRST TEAM

Site: http://www.brandx.net/pilots

For one not-so glorious season Seattle had a Major League baseball team before the Mariners. Perhaps you've heard of them--the Pilots. Made famous by Jim Bouton's groundbreaking tell-all, Ball Four, this site seems to cover everything the book didn't. Incredibly, the stats are available for all 50, yes 50, players who donned the blue and white in 1969. There's background info on 30 Pilots--even the immortal Gus Gil. The roster includes a future Cy Young winner (Mike Marshall) and a former batting champion (Willie Davis). The site has great detail about the controversy of the Pilots departure from Seattle (and arrival in Milwaukee), some neat oldtime photos of Sick (no joke) Stadium, box scores of every game, and even some radio clips. This is a comprehensive and informative site!
