CYBER-SKILLS FREE FOR THE ASKING

Site: http://web.pdx.edu

Want to boost your existing computer and Internet skills? This site will launch you into more information about surfing than you can click a mouse at! Through a step-by-step series of four lessons and four assignments, prepare to "get cyber" or increase your skills at a pace fit for seniors who are just now entering the Worldwide Web or computers in general. In the first lesson, you learn to scroll and get plenty of practicing using the mouse. The lesson also encourages establishing an e-mail address and offers another step-by-step lesson in establishing a free e-mail account. This site may not be for everyone, but if you want to check out your expertise or want to plunge into the Internet with both feet, this is the place. Sponsored by the Portland, Oregon Office on Aging, this introduction to web surfing comes highly recommended by senior friends who made this their starting place--without spending money for computer tutors or having to leave home for lessons.
