AN EDUCATION IN COMPUTER LINGO

This is an educational reference site that, while not as erudite as a dictionary or thesaurus, can still come in pretty handy if you like chatting and e-mailing. At this site, you can figure out the acronyms represented by all the little dots, asterisks, and slashes used in your favorite chat groups—-those in the know call them "emoticons"—-and perhaps even add some mystery to your e-mails. You may think that you are pretty web-saavy, and that you know them all, but at this site you can really test your mettle. Do you know what "EAK" means? "YMMV?" This site also offers definitions of domain name suffixes, such as ".mil" for military, as well as suffixes for countries around the world, links to the Web, and sections for programming, search, and help.
