NOT YOUR AVERAGE JOE

Joe Coulombe is the Joe behind the WineJoe website. That isn't too unusual in itself, I suppose, as there are probably more than a few wine websites owned by people named Joe. What makes Joe not just your "average Joe" is that he's the "Joe" in "Trader Joe's." He founded the California-based chain of markets and ran it for 30 years, making its name by selling good wine at very low prices. Although he's no longer running the stores, he continues to make trips to wine regions, sharing his vast tasting and purchasing experience through his site. This month, Joe is "On the Wine Road with Hemingway in Spain." You can also read about his trip to Bordeaux, reporting on the 1999 vintage, along with many more archived features. WineJoe is definitely not your average site!
