GETTING RID OF OLD PC'S A GROWING BUSINESS

Estimates are that 314 million PC's will be ready for the junk heap by the year 2004. All those computers, filled with toxins, as well as potentially useful scrap materials, represent an opportunity for creative organizations involved in computer recycling and disposal. This article from Popular Science magazine profiles a number of businesses and charities involved in handling old PC's. While many people hang on to two or three year old dinosaurs, they quickly realize that old computers are not worth much, and they may actually have an actual negative net value--you may have to pay someone to haul them away.
