SAUVIGNON ROUGE

Take a pioneering aristocrat and an advertising mogul, add a vineyard, mix in the desire to upset tradition and you could get a market breaking new wine. Baron Achim Von Arnim and Graham de Villiers blended their sauvignon blanc and cabernet sauvignon to create a wine called Sauvignon Rouge that has been making quite a stir in South Africa. Greg Sherwood reports from the Cape with the full story and provides tasting notes for this unusual wine, the first blend of white and red wines in South Africa. It seems this mix of white and black grapes is a success--hopefully a portent for the future of the country.
