What is a webmaster/mistress anyway?

Too many times people ask or have a hard time defining what a webmaster is or does. I myself also have a hard time explaining what I do, sometimes because many aspects overlap one another. This website http://wdvl.com/Internet/Web/Jobs/webmaster.html provides one way to describe this area of expertise (by Selena Sol, who is a well-noted resource on the Internet for CGI scripting and other related web technologies). Her definition is broken into categories. Also, this site has some samples of webmaster resumes ( http://www.ems.psu.edu/~robinson/Manage/JobDescription.html ), which can be helpful when writing your own resume. In my estimation, if you are the one held responsible for the performance of a website, then you are the webmaster/mistress.
