PITCHERS FOR TRADE

Site: http://sports.latimes.com/news/20000709/lat/000064706.html

Pitching is not an easy thing to come by anymore and almost every team needs it. The teams that do have pitching are reluctant to get rid of it, but are intrigued by what they might receive in return. A great example of this is with Curt Schilling, who's teetering towards the trading block. This LA Times column sounds out all the pitchers that the Yankees want, err, are rumored to be available. It's interesting to review the stats of some of the pitchers that are supposed to be so good--almost all have horrible ERAs and more losses than wins. Houston's own Jose Lima heads that category, at 1-13 heading into the break. An informative article for those concerned about who their team may be able to acquire, the trading options for pitchers likely to be moved before the July 31 deadline are discussed eloquently here.
