Top » Education: Reference & LearningTHE (BIG!) BONE COLLECTORSSite: http://www.jobaria.org/jobaria/JobariaHome.htmlThe discovery of a previously unknown dinosaur species is always exciting; when the new species is a particularly large one, it's even more so. When Chicago-based Project Exploration set about reconstruction of the newly-found, 70-foot, 40,000 pound Jobaria Tigudensis, they created a website to keep the public (and children/teachers in particular) informed of the details. On this site, readers can follow the dinosaur mission from the first spotting of the first bone in the African desert to the complete restoration of the skeletons. There are interviews with the team members, cultural notes on the area, and--my personal favorite--the "Build a Dinosaur" section, in which every step of the process is interactively walked through. This is a great site for dinosaur fans, potential paleontologists, and armchair adventurers alike. Mon, 10 Jul 2000 06:40:56 -0700
