Top » Computer: Web & InternetNEED SOME FACTS AND FIGURES ABOUT INTERNET USAGE?Site: http://new-website.openmarket.com/intindex/index.cfmEver wonder how many folks in Latin America are on the Internet? Curious about how much money Internet-based businesses spent in advertising last year? Perhaps you've wondered what was the #1 term plugged into Internet search engines last year? All of these facts, and more, can be found on the Internet Index. Modelled after the witty Harper's Index, this information is compiled and sent out by e-mail in a newsletter format, and new issues appear every few months or so. Like the Harper's Index, the information is more for entertainment purposes rather than research, as it is presented in a random fashion, with no search function. For those who don't want to sign up the site's free newsletter, an archive of past issues is available at the site. The archives date back to the first publication of the index, which came out in December of 1993. Since that time, 27 issues have come out. So, in addition to being able to find some current statistics, reviewing back issues of the index are a good resource for those interested in trends in Internet usage.
