THE JAZZ COMPOSERS COLLECTIVE

New York City-based and musician-run, "The Jazz Composers Collective" is into the nitty-gritty, down and dirty, keepin' it real scene. "Dedicated to presenting the original works of composers who are pushing the boundaries of their self-expression," this site will enlighten the less informed as to the Collective's musical underbelly. The non-profit Collective presents an annual concert series and publishes a newsletter (distributed approximately two weeks prior to each concert) on the site. The newsletter contains articles written by featured composers, poetry and letters covering a broad range of subjects, including descriptions about the music to be performed at upcoming concerts. The website contains detailed information about the Collective and its activities, biographical information on its participating composers and musicians (including pictures), sound samples of concerts and CDs and a whole lot more. So give some props to musicians who may not get the ink from other publications. Because it's all about the music.
