KANSAS OCEANS

Site: http://www.oceansofkansas.com

Kansas: The very word summons images of underwater adventure and giant reptiles. You don't think so? If your idea of Kansas is limited to a cornfield, you will enjoy learning about the amazing remains of the Kansas Ocean. This site describes the giant clams, mosasaurs, bony sharks and other creatures that lived there in Cretaceous times. This link-heavy site includes fossil photos, maps, a pronunciation guide, a "day in the life" of a mosasaur, and a painting of a bony shark chomping a monstrous fish while pterodons fly overhead. Gotta have those pterodons or you lose the whole "Kansas" atmosphere.
