THE RACE IS ON FOR MVP

This article details the race for MVP. High-salaried players are the front-runners this year, as they usually are. Chipper Jones became a big salary player in part by winning the NL MVP last year. There are other players that could really help themselves by winning the MVP this year. If Alex Rodriguez wins, he might be able to command even more money on the free agent market. Manny Ramirez and Juan Gonzalez are two players that could also benefit from getting the MVP, but it's not looking too good for them. Juan Gonzalez made a huge financial mistake in turning down the 17 million a year deal from the Tigers earlier--no team will offer him that kind of money after the year he just had.
