ASP+ What?

Just when you got the hang of ASP, ASP+ arrives on the scene promising to resolve the limitations of its predecessors. This third and final article in a series, provides a summary of the new features and benefits of ASP+. Some of the advances developers can look forward to are: new server controls that reduce repetitive coding and make development quick and easy; configuration/deployment improvements, including the use of the XML format config.web file to store all configuration details, and the addition of new event handlers to the application definition file (global.asax); and enhanced error handling, debugging and tracing features such as more detailed default error pages as well as the ability to create custom error pages. Further, the new Trace directive eliminates the endless Response.Write statements inserted by developers previously to troubleshoot code.
