We humans like to think we are always learning more, getting better, etc., but according to the author of this article, astrology reached its peak during medieval times. The author, Robert Zoller, is an astrologer with a degree in Medieval Studies. He contends that while modern astrology might be helpful from a psychological point of view in understanding ourselves, astrologers of the present day have lost the ability to predict the future with any accuracy. This is because they are left with the mere outer shell of medieval knowledge. Medieval astrology, on the other hand, had a wealth of techniques for accurately predicting coming events. The most important, in his view, is a radically different way of looking at the birth chart. Instead of viewing the chart as the whole person, as modern astrologers do, medieval astrologers limited the person to the first house and the rest--the rest became the world around you and an valuable tool for predicting your future.
