Today, power beads are a popular item to buy in stores, selling from anywhere from a dollar on up, depending on the material they are wrought in. But, what of one of the original materials: rudraksha? Rudraksha is the seed of the rudraksha fruit, also called "the tears of Shiva." I found the information on interpreting the meaning of how many facets each seed has to be of great help. The site gives a more complete picture to the pointy, hard beads than one would find in the average new age shop selling them. The point the site makes about the ability of the beads to trigger acupressure points is accurate and useful to the layperson (and it works to some degree, I've tried it). Take a closer look at the seed that nature sculpted so painstakingly.
