As the current, ongoing Presidential election is teaching us, "the rules" are all-important. They can make or break a campaign. Such is the case in any competition or sport, and so it is with a great sense of purpose that I introduce to you these new rules for basketball. This CNNSI.com article, entitled "New Inbounds Rule Thrills Coaches," discusses the biggest change in the rules, which coaches have squabbled about for quite some time. This change now allows the offensive team--when coming out of a timeout during the last two minutes of the game or during overtime--to inbound the ball in the backcourt, rather than restricting them to the frontcourt.
