The World's Most Violent Natural Disasters

The Red Spot of Jupiter is a violent storm, but also a strangely beautiful sight, sort of a meteorological Grand Canyon. But wait 'til you see pictures of extreme weather right here on Earth. Images of spectacular weather can be found on NOAA's Significant Event Imagery Website. While it provides e-mail updates and short reports on each event, the pictures are the main attraction. You can check on cyclones, duststorms, iceberg movement, fires, floods and volcano eruptions. There is even a "Daily Image" and a "Best of" section where you can view the "most striking images" of our planet's stormy weather.
