Encyclopaedia Britannica

The big news in online information resources recently was that the classic 32-volume Encyclopedia Britannica has become available online...free! However, we who logged in during the first two days have so far seen nothing by a notice from the 231 year-old company but a one-page announcement. Apparently the site is unable to provide any service because it was overwhelmed with heavy traffic and it is going back to the drawing board and re-toll. But it is worth waiting for. Meanwhile, you can get the hard copy for about $1,250 a set...or wait with me for the site to eventually get up and running.
